Manhood: poem

I am a man, I am weak because I care
although I am honest, truthful and kind
the world will be blind,
until I choose to dare.

I learned how to stare,
give a glare, walk the stairs
hide my fears
and shed no tears
I’ve been told to hold my head high,
In case of troubles, not to sigh

They said I am not a gentleman,
I don’t hold doors for woman,
unrealistic expectations are set upon me,
I am tired, I just wanna be free.

Please don’t call me weak,
or feel sad for me,
I am a strong willed man
cause I am pretending to be.
